2023 - WHITE OAK (STEVESTON)

Creating calm through materiality in our White Oak project was an exercise in restraint. Sleek millwork, softly veined stone extending seamlessly from countertop to backsplash, and a subtle interplay of bright whites against warm greige woods establish a quiet, monochromatic foundation. Every material was selected to contribute to a sense of visual stillness, allowing texture, tone and natural variation to do the work.

Greige, the love child of grey and beige, has quietly earned its place as the modern neutral. It offers warmth without the heaviness of 1990s builder beige and sophistication without the cool austerity of the grey-drenched interiors that defined the 2010s. Here, it acts as a gentle bridge between crisp architectural whites and the organic warmth of wood, creating a palette that feels both grounded and quietly refined.

With the architectural layer intentionally restrained, the decorating layer introduces contrast. Deep navy blues bring richness and visual weight, while warm gold accents catch the light and add moments of understated glamour. The result is a considered balance of serenity and drama, where a quiet architectural envelope creates space for bolder decorative gestures.

Because the most compelling interiors rarely exist at one volume. They know when to whisper and, just as importantly, when to make a statement.
