Perched along the tranquil shores of Shuswap Lake and nestled beneath towering trees, the residence was thoughtfully designed to honor the past while embracing the future. Every decision reflects a deep respect for both the land and the family's history, creating a place where generations can continue to gather, reconnect, and build new traditions.
The architecture celebrates the beauty of West Coast contemporary design with a striking balance of strength and restraint. Structural Douglas fir beams, dramatic rooflines, expansive walls of glass, and fully retractable patio doors dissolve the boundary between indoors and out, framing uninterrupted views of the lake, forest, and ever-changing sky.
Natural materials anchor the home to its surroundings. Earth-toned hardscaping, layered stone, and rugged boulders echo the textures of the mountains beyond, while long horizontal lines mirror the calm horizon of the lake. Every architectural element feels as though it has emerged naturally from the landscape rather than been placed upon it.
Inside, every space is designed around connection. Morning coffee overlooking glass-like waters. Shared meals that stretch late into the evening. Fireside conversations that become family stories.
